Wisdom Wednesdays
Happy Wednesday,
This week will primarily look at Chris Williamson’s conversation with Alex Hormozi which went live on Monday. This was such an interesting episode that I thought it contained enough life lessons itself. We will also look at this week’s blog posts, and the quotes of the week.
Let’s dive in!

Modern Wisdom: 21 Brutally Honest Lessons About Life - Alex Hormozi
Key Takeaways:
You might not be a control freak, you might just have high standards.
Make the thing for yourself instead of for other people. This may feel selfish but there are people out there in a similar situation to you, who think like you, and have the same problems as you, so by doing it for yourself you actually end up doing it for an audience. This also means your life isn’t dictated to you by the audience.
A true perfectionist wants to get the thing done and move onto the next project.
Find the areas of highest contribution. Don’t sacrifice or skimp on these. Hold your high standards in these areas as they will bring you the greatest returns.
“If you keep making the same mistake over and over, the mistake isn’t the problem. You are.” - Alex Hormozi
You need to apply what you have learnt.
“Exposure to new information isn’t learning.” - Chris Williamson
To be exceptional you need to be different.
Many people will say you have changed when you have actually grown.
Build and find evidence that what you believe isn’t full of shit.
You will survive rejection. It is not the death of you (as many of us like to think).
Aim for respect and fame will follow. Don’t aim for fame.
To be authentic what you say, think, and do must be aligned.
The consequences of failure are that you win or learn.
Trying to be optimal in everything can cause you more stress that taking imperfect action.
“Nothing great was ever achieved by people who tried to be great at all things.” - Alex Hormozi
Which problems would you prefer to have?
“The only insults that hurt are the ones that we believe.” - Alex Hormozi
“The frame of agreement evaporates conflict.” - Alex Hormozi
Conquering hard things makes it easier to conquer harder things.
You don’t find your passion, you create it.
The only you can create your passion is by getting good at something.
Allow yourself to be a student and learn. That’s how you become the master.
“If you can be in a bad mood for no reason then you might as well be in a good mood for no reason.” - Alex Hormozi
Life is made up of peaks and troughs.
Too many of us try to eliminate the troughs and think there is something wrong with us, but it is just life.
“Stop trying to solve the problem of life.” - Alex Hormozi
