Happy Wednesday,
This week will look at why your ‘Content Diet’ is important, along with these weeks blog posts and quotes of the week.
Let’s dive in!
Life Lesson
You may have heard the old saying you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Well, this might be changing.
Chris Williamson says that, due to the vast amount of time we spend on the internet and social media, you are the average of the 5 podcasts you listen to the most.
You must be aware of what you consume.
In Hyperfocus, Chris Bailey says that we are what we consume.
By only consuming entertaining content that you cant even remember 5 minutes later, you may be harming your creativity.
Our brain collects dots (bits of information) and connecting these dots is how we generate new ideas and solve problems.
Therefore, by consuming more valuable dots, we have more dots to connect.
Is the content you are consuming valuable?
Bailey adds that the most useful dots are both valuable and entertaining, like a TedTalk.
What you consume influences your view of the world. Ensure you are consuming balanced information and valuable information.
